Dates
Friday 01/03/2025 5:00 pm - 7:00 am

The practices of asana, meditation, and creativity are optimal activities for tapping into the flow state — a place of deep focus without distraction from other worldly things. Join Emma for this two-hour workshop that prepares the body through movement, clears the mind through meditation, and unlocks creativity through a series of mindful writing prompts. As a yoga instructor and published author, Emma will share how her asana, meditation, and writing practices blend in this workshop designed for all levels of yoga practitioner and writer — whether you are new or familiar with the mat, paper, and pen matters not! You will leave with tips on how to incorporate these activities into your day and a spark of inspiration. Attendees are asked to dress comfortably for movement and sitting and come with their yoga mat, a notebook, a writing implement, and water (or beverage of choice). Yoga props and meditation cushions are available at the studio.

Emma Bouthillette

When Emma was first introduced to yoga, the physical practice was overwhelming. After turning 30, she was inspired to explore the practice of yoga and meditation as a means of managing chronic anxiety and panic attacks. When she finally stepped back on her mat in 2017 at Samudra Studio, she focused her practice on the mind, body, and spirit connection with less concern about how her abundant body looked in each pose. She enrolled in Maine’s first Fluid Yoga School 200-hour teacher training to deepen her own practice, but discovered a love for sharing yoga with others. Emma has been teaching since the spring of 2018. Her classes embody her joyful spirit with music to move to (dancing encouraged) and laughter. In June 2020, she completed Yoga for All training to foster inclusivity for all body shapes, sizes, and abilities in her teachings.
