$100.00 Sanskrit - the Ocean of Sacred Language
Deepen your practice and your teaching with authenticity, clarity, and reverence.
Sanskrit - meaning “well-composed” or “well put together”- offers a rich connection between sound, meaning, and spiritual practice. In many yogic traditions, sound is understood as a creative power, and the letters of the alphabet are revered as expressions of the unfolding of creation, sometimes seen as a divine force or goddess itself. Speech is a creative act that ripples energy inwards to our own system and outwards to all beings. Move beyond memorization, and bring wisdom and understanding to your use of this beautiful language.
Each week, we’ll explore the structure and pronunciation of the Sanskrit alphabet, practice selected mantras, prayers, or chants, and their pronunciation and how to utilize them in personal practice, and discover basic word roots and the families of words that grow from them.
Through listening, speaking, chanting, and reflection you’ll deepen your relationship with language and bring greater confidence, care, and meaning to the words you use in practice and teaching.
You’ll leave this course with:
Greater confidence in your Sanskrit pronunciation.
Insight into the sacred symbolism of letters, syllables, and sounds.
An understanding of Sanskrit word roots, translations, and layered meanings.
Mantras and chants to incorporate into your daily meditation practice.
Course includes:
